X Factor UK secrets and ‘fixing’ exposed (by Frankie Cocozza!)
X Factor UK’s secrets and fixing have been supposedly revealed.

Former X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza, who was last year booted out of the show, has told how many aspects of the show aren’t what they seem.

In truth, it’s nothing that new, but it’s rare for a former contestant to go into so much detail.

Frankie explained that bosses had originally did “everything they could” to keep him in the show, before then forcing him out.

He tells the Daily Star newspaper today: “I just got caned week in week out. I didn’t want to be there but they did everything they could to keep me in.

“And then when I kept getting through each week I think they thought: ‘Sh*t, he could win this and we can’t have that,’ so they f***ed me off in the most horrible way.

Rebecca Ferguson: ‘X Factor needs entertainment acts’
Rebecca Ferguson has said that The X Factor needs entertainment acts.

The singer – who came second in the 2010 series of the show – insisted that the programme would become “too serious” if there weren’t any fun performers in the live finals.

“I remember at the time I was on the show, people gave Wagner a really hard time,” Ferguson told Digital Spy. “I just loved him – he didn’t bother me at all.

“People were like, ‘It’s about the music’, and I was just like, ‘He’s having a ball!’ He’s up there dancing away and has all kinds of gorgeous girls around him and I was just like, ‘He’s having fun’.

“At the time when I was on the show, it didn’t bother me at all,” she added. “When you’re watching The X Factor it’s nice to have that entertainment factor.

“It’s a Saturday night entertainment programme and it could get too serious if we didn’t have bits of fun in it.”

REBECCA FERGUSON IN WARNING TO ‘SOFT TOUCH’ WANNABES
FORMER runner-up Rebecca Ferguson has said this year’s contestants must toughen up or face being eaten alive by the music industry.

She said she almost quit music after her experiences changed her from the happy, sweet girl who applied for the show in 2010.

Rebecca, who returns to the reality show tonight to perform new single Backtrack, said: “I can’t watch my first audition because it makes me too upset. I just think it is really sad. I look at myself and don’t recognise myself. I do think fame and fortune changes people.

“I have had to change because the girl in that audition wouldn’t survive in the music industry. Little sweet Becki who loves everyone and who thinks the best of everyone wouldn’t survive.

“I have had to toughen up a lot, so when I look at that I feel really sad.”

Cheryl Cole: ‘I wasn’t sure about Katie Waissel at first’
Cheryl Cole has admitted that she wasn’t sure about X Factor contestant Katie Waissel during her first audition.

The former judge, who went on to put Waissel through to live shows, made the confession in her new autobiography Cheryl: My Story.

Waissel, who courted controversy throughout her stint on The X Factor, famously forgot the words to Queen’s ‘We Are the Champions’ when she first tried out for the show in 2010, before singing Etta James’s ‘At Last’.

“Simon [Cowell] had spent the past two years drumming into me that we needed acts who would be ‘good TV’,” Cole confessed.

The ‘Call My Name’ star took a break from the series while she battled malaria, and later saw Waissel perform at Judges’ Houses as part of the Girls category.

“When I saw Katie perform this time, I had to admit that she was… quirky, intriguing and busting to succeed.
