Ever since One Direction went on hiatus earlier this year, each of the boys have pleasantly surprised us in beginning their personal ~journeys~ into music, acting, and uh, backpacking across Southeast Asia. Alright well, that last one only applies to Niall Horan, who also released his first single post-split just yesterday. In the wake of this momentous event, he also sat down for an interview on the Zach Sang Show, and told us what we need to know about his full LP, which is expected to come out sometime next year (!).

NIALL Horan has just stunned the music world by becoming the first existing member of One Direction to release a solo single.

And now I can reveal the amazing details behind the song, titled This Town, which he has been keeping under wraps for months.

This is no teaser track from Niall – it is his first official single as a solo artist and the launch of his new, post-1D career.

After signing a big-money deal with Capitol Records in the States, Niall has also penned a deal with Virgin EMI in the UK – joining some of the world’s biggest stars on their roster, including Katy Perry, Rihanna and Paul McCartney.

Paying homage to the Sir Paul McCartney, who interviewed him for the feature, Harry posed in a red military jacket with a sixties haircut – a nod to The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s album cover.

Before the interview, we chatted informally and were immediately struck by her air of childlike innocence and openness. Her conversation was punctuated with vivacious, no-holding-back laughter.

James Arthur makes a triumphant return to the top of the Official Singles Chart as his comeback track Say You Won’t Let Go claims this week’s Number 1.

The song notched up 85,000 combined sales (made up of 41,000 downloads and 4.4 million streams) to knock The Chainsmokers’ Closer (2) from the summit after a four week stint at the top. Watch his reaction to the news below:
