Harry Styles Reflects on Life After One Direction & More at Grammy Museum in L.A.
Four months after releasing his eponymous debut and hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200, One Direction alumnus Harry Styles revisited the album with executive producer Jeff Bhasker during an hour-long chat moderated by famed journalist and film director Cameron Crowe at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Friday night (Sept. 15).

During the conversation, the 23-year-old, who kicks off his world tour in San Francisco on Sept. 19, shared sharp and astute reflections on his artistic process, spanning everything from isolating himself in a studio in Jamaica to developing ideas to moving on from being in a band and how entering this chapter of his career allowed for new beginnings.

Harry Styles Charms Grammy Museum Crowd, Is a Nomination Next?
Ahead of a Sept. 20 show at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, Harry Styles took the stage at downtown L.A.’s Grammy Museum on Friday night (Sept. 15) for a Q&A conducted by writer and filmmaker Cameron Crowe. Styles, who released his self-titled debut in May, was joined by producer Jeff Bhasker for a lively, often laugh-out-loud discussion of how the album came together, Styles’ experience filming “Dunkirk” (“I was in the water way more than the movie suggests,” Styles cracked), and his views on the music industry.

And while the Grammy Awards weren’t mentioned specifically, the venue — as well as the presence of longtime Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich in the crowd — certainly brought to mind the possibility of a future nomination for what is arguably one of the strongest albums of the year. An understated post-interview performance of Styles’ gorgeous second single, “Two Ghosts,” featuring Bhasker on keyboards, drove the point home.

Niall Horan says One Direction’s first gig was the “worst night of my life”
“I never want to talk about that gig again.”
Niall Horan has revealed that the worst night of his life… was a One Direction gig, actually.

In an interview with the BBC, the 24-year-old revealed that one gig still haunts him and it was the first one the band ever played.

The band – who back then were still a fivesome – played the Watford Colosseum in December 2011, just weeks after scoring their first number one with ‘What Makes You Beautiful.’

And Niall thought the whole thing was a disaster quite frankly (even if the concert did receive positive reviews in the press).

“I never want to talk about that gig again,” he said. “Worst night of my life. The worst One Direction show ever.

“We’ve refused to talk about it ever since. It was a disaster. We were just a joke.

“Anything we rehearsed just went out the window. It was our first ever gig and we just didn’t know what the [expletive] was going on.”
