New Music Release

One Bit, Louisa – Between You and Me

Louisa Johnson is back and has teamed up with One Bit on single Between You & Me
The singer returns with a bright and radio-friendly house pop courtesy of UK producers One Bit.
A breakup is usually dealt in one of two ways. Either you immediately dust yourself down and get back on the horse, or you retreat and take some time to reflect before eventually putting yourself back out there.

Louisa Johnson has opted for the former approach, gearing up to release a new single this week following her split from Simon Cowell’s Syco label last month.

The track, called Between You & Me, is a collaboration with UK dance writer/producer duo One Bit, the team behind the criminally underrated My Way with Noah Cyrus (their debut single Cold is also well worth a listen). It’s released tomorrow (August 10).

Like My Way, Between You & Me is the kind of bright and instant radio-friendly house pop that would have slotted in perfectly on this year’s Love Island. “I know there’s something going on between you and me/ I love this secret little bond between you and me” Louisa sings on the chorus over parping horns and punchy piano.

The star hosted his last ever Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning
RADIO DJ and Harry Styles’ best friend Nick Grimshaw confirmed One Direction will NOT be reuniting during his final Radio 1 show today.

The TV presenter, 33, seemed to break the hearts of 1D fans everywhere when he dismissed the band’s plans to reunite in the future after going on hiatus.

Speaking on his action-packed final show – which saw the host relive some of his most memorable radio moments – he said producer Fiona Hanlon: “When we started this show [One Direction] were all together as a five piece.

“Do you think they’ll ever get back together?”

Answering his own question, Nick then enthused: “No, not a chance. It’s not happening is it?”

Of course, it wasn’t long before 1D fans took to Twitter to question the announcement, with some slamming the presenter for acting like “1D’s PR chief”.

Harry Styles lived in an attic for a YEAR instead of mansion home to produce CBS sitcom Happy Together inspired by his early years of fame
Harry Styles ‘lived in the attic’ of his producer pal Ben Winston for more than a year while working on new CBS sitcom Happy Together.

The show has been inspired by the One Direction star’s early years of fame and according to Just Jared, Harry favoured living in the attic of Winston’s home instead of his own mansion.

His time spent there is believed to have influenced producer Winston to create the sitcom in which a young pop star moves in with a suburban, married couple as he chases fame within the music industry.

MARVIN’S SLAVE SHOCK Who was Marvin Humes’ great-grandfather and what did he do during the Second World War?
The former JLS singer was shocked when he realised one of his black ancestors was a slave owner in Jamaica but his faith was somewhat restored by his great-grandfathers heroics in Dunkirk
MARVIN Humes admitted he expected to find links to slavery in his family’s past when he signed up for Who Do You Think You Are? but could never have imagined his relatives would have been the owners, not the slaves.

The JLS singer finds out that his four times great grandfather on his dad’s side, John Brown Williams, owned two slaves in Jamaica.

Marvin’s four-times-great-grandfather on his father’s side, John Brown Williams, owned two slaves that worked his 20-acre plot of land in Jamaica.

John’s own father Edward had been a slave – whose freedom was bought for £160 in 1818. His freedom enabled John to buy the land which came with two slave workers.

After the abolition of slavery, in 1834, he was compensated £53 for losing the two slaves, which is equivalent to around £4200 in today’s money.
