The boys, who drank peppermint tea at February’s Brit Awards, told organisers of their sell-out Manchester gigs that they wanted a large amount of tea bags on standby.

Cheesy does it
X Factor turns to 80s

THIS year’s X Factor could unleash an army of naff Christopher Maloney clones.

ITV research found one reason last year’s show was below par was it featured too many chart hits and not enough “classic” pop songs.

That was a massive turn-off for older viewers — but cheesy former cruise ship entertainer Christopher did well as he mostly sang classics.

A senior source explained: “The X Factor is a cool competition, but first and foremost it’s a family entertainment show — it has to appeal to all ages.

“Including more songs from the Seventies and Eighties will help it stay connected with mums, dads and grandparents who don’t know the latest chart sensation.
