Syco in a Harry to re-sign 1D! Boys offered £2.5m EACH
ONE Direction are on the brink of a new record deal which could bank them a massive £2.5million each.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell and execs at his label Syco are hoping to lure the fab five back for two more records once their current record deal runs out.

As it stands the band are expected to release two more albums, followed by a greatest hits package.

However Syco execs are already trying to lock Harry, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Niall in to a recording deal which would guarantee a further two albums.

The only snag is the offer at this stage only applies if the hit-makers sign on the dotted line as a five piece.

If a member leaves to pursue a solo career the deal becomes dead – and lawyers would have to start from scratch.

A record label source in LA said: “One Direction are big business and Simon and co are desperate to keep the money-making machine going for as long as possible.

“The £2.5million would be a signing on deal before they get the cut of royalties, songwriting and PRS.

“The concert deals would remain separate.

“The negotiations are already in the very early stages and are being kept top secret.”

Little Mix’s ‘Move’ won last night’s 2014 Twenty Quid Music Prize
In a democratic shouting match held in a London hostelry last night, Little Mix’s ‘Move’ was voted the best British pop single of the last twelve months.

Hurrah.

Beating off Charli XCX’s ‘Boom Clap’ into second place, ‘Move’ – which was released way back in November 2013 – was praised for its unique structure, the weird mooing bit at the beginning and some other things we can’t really remember because we were quite drunk and still are.

The point is that a great pop single has been recognised as such.

Twenty pounds (cash) will be on its way to Little Mix in due course.

Steve Brookstein’s got a book coming out. But what’s in it?
Years before livetweeting turned The X Factor from an enjoyable light entertainment telly experience into a bloodsport, one man was yelling “WORRALOADOFOLDSHIT” at anyone who’d listen. Now, he’s written a book.

In 2004 Steve Brookstein was The X Factor’s first ever winner. He released a Number One single and a gold-selling album, then he was dropped. The X Factor has since written him out of its history.

These days Steve is usually portrayed as bitter, and his Twitter feed is not exactly one that depicts a man capable of cheerily LOLing away his experiences. To be honest, if Steve was bitter that would be quite understandable – would any of us really not hold a grudge if we’d been fired for doing a decent job? – but he seems angry more than anything else, and it looks like the book is all about explaining why.

Steve announced the book over the summer, and finished writing it five weeks ago. “The book I’ve been meaning to write for years is finally finished,” he wrote, “and on it’s way to be printed.” With any luck he ran it past some subs before he sent it off. Either way we have high hopes for the book, and here’s what we’d like to see in it.
