They are one of the biggest bands in the world, but One Direction surpassed their already-impressive achievements when they opened their world tour on Friday.
Proving their boy power credentials, the five young men performed to an estimated 40,000 screaming fans at the El Campin stadium.
There, they opened their Where We Are world your, which will see them deliver 67 dates across the globe.

One Direction employ security team ‘bigger than President Obama’s and have hostile environment training’ for Colombian leg of Where We Are world tour
One Direction were protected with ‘military precision’ by a security team ‘bigger than President Obama’s’ during their recent show in Colombia.
The superstar boy band kicked off their Where We Are world tour in South America on Friday evening and it’s said the four boys were given a huge entourage of guards and police to ensure their safety while they performed in an area known for being a kidnapping hot spot.
It’s claimed the boys had more than 200 people protecting them and have even been given ‘hostile environment’ training.

One Direction accused of copying ‘freeze’ special effect from Australian band in new video for You & I
Boyband One Direction have been accused of stealing the concept for their music video from Australian band Clubfeet.
Oh Yeah Wow, who made the video for the band’s track Everything You Wanted last year, took to social media not long after the video was released to point out what they believe are similarities.
Towards the end of One Direction’s video, which is directed by Ben Winston and made by production company Fulwell 73, the famous five ‘freeze’ on screen before they merge into their frozen image and continue moving – a special effect Oh Yeah Wow say they created.

X Factor 2014: Tamera Foster’s getting started on debut album
X Factor’s Tamera Foster has revealed she’s getting to work on her debut album, due out later this year.
The singer was picked up by Simon Cowell’s Syco Record label earlier in the Spring, despite not even making the final last series after finishing in fifth place.
“SO GUYS I HAVE NEWSSS,” Tamera tweeted back in February. “I’m The Newest member of syco music!! GET THAT WORKK!”
She added: “IM SO BLESSED TO HAVE MY DREAM JOB AT THE AGE OF 17, Thank God Always”

X Factor’s Rough Copy sign to Epic Records
X Factor stars Rough Copy have been signed to Epic Records in the UK.
The label has been behind the success of past X Factor acts JLS and Cher Lloyd as well as singers including Paloma Faith.
The group, who finished fourth on the show last yer, are the latest acts to be signed after winner Sam Bailey, runner up Nicholas McDonald and Tamera Foster, who finished in fifth place.
The trio took to Facebook this week to announce the news, writing: “We are so grateful to have been given this opportunity to create music because this is our love and passion.
“Being able to do so on the label that was the home of Michael Jackson is a dream come true especially for me (DopeBoy)”.
Rough Copy’s Kazeem Ajobe, Sterling Ramsay and Joey James are set to release their debut single called Street Love at the end of June.

But despite Robbie’s record of a massive 11 No.1 albums and seven No.1 singles, Mr Bubble Butt has warned the Robster it’s got to be killer not filler if it’s going to make the album tracklist.
Chatting at my Jog On To Cancer fundraiser Olly told me: “We’ve been writing together and we’re going to go into the studio.
“But I’ve told him it’s got to be amazing if he wants it to go on the album.
“We’re just going into the studio to have a giggle and see what happens.”
The pair teamed up for a cover of I Wanna Be Like You last year for Robbie’s album – and now he’s returning the favour.

Her last appearance on Loose Women ended dramatically when she collapsed while closing with a performance of latest single All That I’ve Got.
Returning to the daytime show on Thursday afternoon – albeit via telephone – former X Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson, 27, admitted the traumatic episode, aired live, encouraged her to take a pregnancy test.
‘What’s funny is after the show, I took a test because I was thinking ‘This is weird! What’s going on with my body?’ and it came up negative,’ she told the panel.

SPICE Girl Mel B is on the verge of signing a £1million contract to become an X Factor judge.
Show boss Simon Cowell, 54, is willing to break the bank to secure Scary Spice’s place on the panel in time for auditions starting in June.
Singer Mel, 38, had in-depth talks with execs at ITV last week and last-minute details about her contract are now being agreed.
The move will see her join Simon, Louis Walsh, 61, and Cheryl Cole, 30, on the talent show, which returns to our screens in the summer.
A source close to Louis has told the Daily Star Sunday Mel is due to sign on the dotted line any day now.
The insider added: “It’s pretty much a done deal. And Simon thinks Mel will be perfect for the show.
“Fine details such as her expenses budget and filming dates need to be agreed. Other than that, she’s ready to go.”
