He quit the X Factor last year after eight years as presenter.
But now, as producers face dwindling viewing figures and recover from last year’s gaffe-filled series, TV personality Dermot O’Leary is gearing up for his much-anticipated return this autumn.
The 42-year-old broadcaster, who is known for his fancy footwork and dancing routines, has confirmed his return, saying: ‘I’m very flattered to be asked back to The X Factor, and am currently dusting off my dancing shoes.’

The X Factor?’s new host Dermot O’Leary has compared his recent meeting with Simon Cowell to the movie Heat?.
Dermot – who was confirmed to be returning to the show this week – joked that the interview was similar to the Al Pacino and Robert De Niro film.
“?Good to meet up with the boss last week @SimonCowell,” he tweeted. “For those asking,it pretty much played out like this…”
He then linked to a clip of ?Heat – and it just so happened to be the moment where bitter rivals Neil McCauley (De Niro) and ?Lieutenant Vincent Hanna? (Pacino) meet.

LOUIS Walsh is set for a return to The X Factor as it bids to woo back older viewers.
The 63-year-old, sacked from the ITV show last year, has flown to LA for talks with show boss and best pal Simon Cowell.
He is set to replace outgoing judge Nick Grimshaw, 31, to help lure back older viewers who have deserted to BBC’s Strictly. A show source said: “Simon didn’t really want Louis to go in the first place.
“He’s doing all he can to sign him for the next series. Louis is up for it. Simon wants an older person back after admitting last year’s series was too youthful, which might have made more people go to Strictly.”

Delivering a speech on body confidence during their Dublin performance on Wednesday, the star was overcome with emotion and struggled to get her words out as she was caught on camera fighting back tears in a clip released by a fan on Twitter.
Addressing the crowd, she began: ‘If you’re ever feeling really crap about yourself or not feeling confident this is exactly why we wrote this song…’ before pausing to compose herself.

The 2014 champ admitted feeling “miffed and disheartened” when he split with the record label after just one year. But despite having zero contact with an AWOL Cowell, Ben denied being bitter and instead praised his former boss.
Chatting for my WIRED exclusive, Ben told me: “I had a meeting with people from the label and we went our separate ways but I still haven’t heard anything from Simon at all.
“Obviously I would have loved a text from Simon and I wouldn’t knock it if I got one but I’ve not lost any sleep over it.
“I never thought we’d become best mates, chat on the phone all the time or I’d be going over to his house for dinner. It’s all good though. I have nothing but respect for Simon.”
