Marvin Humes: ‘When JLS finished I knew I didn’t want to sing anymore’
Marvin Humes has revealed that he knew he didn’t want to sing anymore as JLS parted ways back in 2013.
The former boyband member has started new production group LuvBug with JKAY and The White N3rd, who will release their new single ‘Revive’ this weekend (February 8).
“The main reason is why I initially wanted to start LuvBug is because, when me and the JLS boys were coming to an end, I was doing a lot of DJing in the clubs,” Humes told Digital Spy.
“I knew that when we split up I wanted to stay in the music industry, but I didn’t really want to be a singer anymore. I wanted to make the music I was playing in the clubs.”
The star – who also presents The Voice UK on BBC One and has his own Capital FM radio show – admitted that he gets more nervous about LuvBug single releases than he did about JLS’s back in the day.

The Jump’s JB Gill: ‘I don’t really miss JLS yet’
JB Gill has admitted that he doesn’t miss performing with JLS.
The boyband and X Factor runners-up split at the end of 2013, having scored five number one singles and four top three albums in the UK.
When asked whether the group may reform in the future, he said: “Erm, never say never, but there’s no plans to do that at the moment.”
Speaking to reporters after his elimination from The Jump last night (February 8), he said that he doesn’t miss being part of a pop group.
“I’m very much a person of intent, and I think if you miss things you probably shouldn’t have done it,” he continued. “We made a very conscious decision, we sat down, we took over a year and a half to make that decision.
“We didn’t just say, ‘We’re done’ and left the next day. We had our final tour, we had a greatest hits album, we continued working for about a year and a half and we knew the decision that we’d made had been the right decision.
