X Factor Top 7 – Michael Jackson Week!

Watch X Factor choreographer, Brian Friedman and Head Stylist June Ambrose talk about this week’s theme Michael Jackson! In this week’s Pepsi recap.

What do you think of the theme? What should the contestants sing? Leave your thoughts in comments. I’ll have to think about this one for a bit…

It’ll be interesting to watch Astro and Chris Rene rap their way through a Michael Jackson tune. Hm.

X Factor moves back to its regular time Wed/Thurs at 8 pm.  This week…a DOUBLE ELIMINATION!

My Picks For the Top 7

Drew – “Human Nature” – I think she’s going to have some trouble this week. If she takes a risk, and goes upbeat, there’s a pretty good chance she’s going to blow it. I picked “Human Nature” because it’s a pretty song and slightly upbeat compared to her recent performances.

Josh Kracjik – “Man in the Mirror” – Josh and his soulful growl could kill this song dead.

Melanie Amaro – “Never Can Say Goodbye” – I had the hardest time choosing for Melanie! This classic tune could be a showcase for her impressive vocals.

Marcus Canty – “Smooth Criminal” – Marcus can work his “dance moves” on this one.

Rachel Crow – “I’ll Be There” – A chance for Rachel to sing an age appropriate song that does not suck? This song is it.

Chris Rene – “Black or White” – A message oriented song fits Chris’s personna, and in the longer version of the song there’s a rap. I also think he could handle the singing parts of the song.

Astro – “They Don’t Care About Us” – Astro doesn’t sing AT ALL, so how is he going to cover Michael Jackson. I picked “The Don’t Really Care About Us” because it’s not very melodic. Astro could have background singers performing the melody while he raps on top of it. It’s also suitably angry.
