According to the New York Post, X Factor contestant, Marcus Canty, was so upset after Rachel Crow was eliminated last week, that he almost quit.
“Marcus was crying backstage,” an on-set source tells The Post. “It took him a few hours to pull himself together. He felt so bad, his first reaction was to quit.”
Marcus told The Post he got plenty of negative feedback from fans after Rachel was sent home. “People saying, ‘Marcus go home.’ I’ve got called names,” he said.
One of Marcus’s facebook messages read, “You already ruined three very talented peoples chances to show us something special and go on. Mark my words, they will shadow you.”
“I knew [people] would say, ‘Marcus the baby-killer,’ and I got the little girls crying,” he says. “But people should be prepared for a heartbreak, cause everybody can’t win . . . If people wanted Rachel to go through, they should have voted for her.”
It’s a good thing this week’s vote is totally up to America, because Simon seems to be quite over Marcus at this point. The X Factor judge told Zap2it, “I think it’s quite clear that it’s down to three people now. And it’s Melanie, Josh and Chris,” said Simon. OUCH.
When asked if he thinks Marcus has no chance of winning that 5 million dollars, Simon quickly said, “Yeah.”
“I’ve got to live in this world with or without Simon,” Marcus reacts. “Anything he says doesn’t make me feel terrible inside. I’m being me. I’m having fun.”
Will Marcus continue to buck the odds, or has his march to the crown finally run out of steam? Melanie, Chris and Josh have never been in the bottom two, and all seem to be strong contestants with solid fan bases. But, stranger things have happened.
