X Factor Australia 5 – Results Week 3

In a complete surprise to absolutely no one: Barry ends up in the Hunger Games bottom 2. He is joined by District Sweden’s JTR. Unlike last week, I feel that both acts fully deserve their spot in the bottom 2, and if you’ve been reading the articles that I’ve been writing you pretty much know which one of them needs to go as well.

The most impressive thing in between these performances is how good Barry looks in a beanie. He really should be wearing them more often, and I am not usually a fan of denim jackets, but Barry makes me a believer. Oh the singing you ask? Yeah Barry was too high and breathy all over Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors.” The way that Barry ended it with “I’ve got so much more to give, yeah.” It was a bit much, if I really believed it, I suppose that could’ve been a fun moment. Since I know it really wasn’t true, at least for now anyways it just made him look silly. JTR did a decent job on the Script psuedo-mid-tempo balland, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.” Their harmonies are still a mess, but less than usual. So I am ultimately glad they stayed. They need to establish as stronger vocalists next week and with the theme of “Latest and Greatest” look for a ballad, perhaps, Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and send it through the JTR-ification process.
