X Factor Alum Astro Announces He’s No Longer With Epic Records

We all suspected, this, but now it appears to be official. X Factor season 1 alum, Astro, announces via twitter that he’s no longer with Epic Records. This, before he ever released music on the label.

Season 1 has turned into a big bust. The winner, Melanie Amaro hasn’t been officially dropped from her label, but the album she recorded has been postponed indefinitely. Second place finisher, Josh Krajcik, released some music independently that seemed to go nowhere. And the EP 3rd place finisher, Chris Rene released, barely made a ripple on the charts. I’ll be surprised if he ever releases a full length album. Ditto Marcus Canty, who finished 4th.

Astro isn’t sitting still. He guest starred on the CBS drama, Person of Interest, and landed parts in a Disney movie Echo, and a part in  the crime drama, A Walk Among The Tombstones. He’s also been dropping mixtapes and videos for his fans. I have a feeling the young actor/rapper won’t be dropping out of show business anytime soon.
