My TV works again. So I will be liveblogging tonight’s premiere of THE X-FACTOR! Join me! I’m excited for Rachel Potter, who is from Orlando. I have friends who are friends of hers.
We open with a montage of HOT X-Factor acts. Most of them are not from this country. lol. Then a long montage of people we will see this season.

1st Audition- Carlito Olivero – Stay by Rihanna
He wants to be the latino Chris Brown. Is that something to aspire to? His girlfriend should watch out. He works at a coffee shop. He’s a little off on the beat, if I’m being honest. He’s behind. He has a decent voice, but it is really distracting that he can’t hear that he’s not in time. Girls in the crowd seem to love him. He’s a good looking guy. Simon liked him, and his voice, and his charisma. He thinks there’s no one in the marketplace like Carlito. Demi calls him a cross between Frankie J and Trey Songz. All judges vote Yes.

2nd Audition- Sally Hessnice – The Greatest Love Of All by Whitney Houston
When she sings… she makes people happy. She’s old. The girl she’s talking to looks like she knows this old lady is crazy. Simon tells her she looks like Demi. Sally is so happy to hear that. Sally is an RN, married for 35 years. Really upbeat lady. She’s 55. She’s making weird faces during the intro. lulz. I’m sure she does well at karaoke, with drunk people, but not on stage. Not here. It’s not 100% terrible, but a solid 85%. You know what, she’s basically on pitch. She’s just really an over-the-top bizarre performer. Kelly wasn’t crazy about the vocal. Simon says 8,000 dogs tried to get into the venue. All judges vote No.
3rd Audition- Valeria – Can’t Live
She’s a Karaoke DJ? Ummm. She’s awful. Much worse than Sally. She’s a No.
4th Audition- Konnected – Waterfalls by Destiny’s Child
Mom with 2 daughters. They are terrible. Someone sounds like a man. No.
Some girl sings Titanium, bad. Some guy sings something, and Paulina calls him “peachy” meaning pitchy.
5th Audition- John Taylor Davis – My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion
Student from Dallas. His pitch was all over the place. Simon called him the iceberg. No.
Now we’re in Long Island. That was fast.
6th Audition- Lillie McCloud – Alabaster Box by Cece Winans
She’s here to win. She lives in Orlando too. She’s 54. O-Town represent! She does NOT look 54. She had 3 kids, and 7 grandkids. Holy hell this woman can sing. I love her tone. We have a contender here, if she can do the pop music that X-Factor wants. She can’t win this show with gospel ballads. She will have to prove she can be current. But she has a really awesome instrument. Demi is just captivated. Lillie looks like she could be in her 30’s. She’s only a year younger than Sally was. That’s incredible that she looks so young. This audition is like when Melanie Amaro stepped on stage during season one. I feel her immediately. She’s the truth. Kelly says she blessed the whole room. Simon thinks she has an incredible voice. Demi says it ripped her heart out of her chest, and she felt like she was listening to Whitney. Simon fakes out with a No at first, but it’s a Yes from all four judges. You can hear Simon say “love her” as Lillie runs off stage.

7th Audition- Alex and Sierra – Toxic by Britney Spears
Another person from Orlando. We are REPRESENTING this year. “Brother and Sister?” “No, we kiss, so that would be weird.” They’re funny. Charismatic. I like them. Sierra has an interesting voice. This is a cool cover. Alex basically just backs her up. Finally, Alex sings. He sounds a bit like Jason Mraz. It’s a cool voice. These two might do well in the group category, but they need a name. Alex and Sierra is just boring. The crowd loves them. Demi says she had chills because they are so down to earth. She’s rooting for them. Paulina says she believes in them, and believes in love. Simon thought it would be corny, but thought it was cool and quirky. Yes from all four judges.

8th Audition- Rion Paige – Blown Away by Carrie Underwood
She watched Demi on Camp Rock all the time. She’s blind in her right eye, and her hands are malformed. She’s only 13. She seems a lot older. I suppose the life she’s lived gives her this wisdom in her voice. The audience stands up for her. The girl judges give her a standing O mid-song. Vocally? Honestly? She’s good, and probably good enough to compete. I just don’t HEAR a frontrunner. For 13 though? Mad props. Demi loves how positive she is. Paulina feels honored. Kelly witnessed passion. Simon says she’s literally extraordinary. He compares her to the first time she heard Carrie Underwood. He says he’s going to remember this audition for a long time, and calls Rion a beautiful person. Yes from all four judges.
