World of Dance Winners Les Twins Perform on Today (VIDEO)

NBC’s World of Dance revealed their winner Tuesday night. French hip-hop duo Les Twins beat out ballroom troupe Swing Latino and 13 year old contemporary dancer, Eva Igo for the $1 million prize.

This morning (August 9) the duo dropped by the Today show for a chat and to perform one of their signature routines.

Les Twins, comprised of identical twin brothers Laurent and Larry Bourgeois, are self-taught and got their start in 2008 as finalists on the French TV show Incroyable Talent. They’ve been affiliated with the World of Dance organization for years, finding fame in 2010 when a WOD video of a tour performance went viral on Youtube.

Les Twins have been featured dancers for big stars such as Beyoncé, Meghan Trainor, and Missy Elliott. They’ve also modeled for French haute couture fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier and appeared in many high-profile, commercial advertising campaigns.

Unlike many competitive reality shows, World of Dance judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough determined which acts would move on, and ultimately the winner via a point system. The points were close between all 3 acts. But I suspect if it were up to viewers at home, Les Twins would have blown the competition away.

On Today, the duo talked about the challenges they faced during the competition (including injury), demonstrated a few silly dance moves, and more.
