UPDATE: TV Line is reporting that Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) in New York and Marley (Melissa Benoist) in Ohio will join forces on a duet on the classic Billy Joel ballad, “New York State of Mind.” The duet will happen in one of the first few episodes of the season.
Also, more detail on the Carly Rae Jepsen cover “Call Me Maybe” set to be performed by New Directions in the premiere. The vocals will be split amongst Brittany (Heather Morris), Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), and Blaine (Darren Criss).
Also, Glee Project winner, Blake Jenner, will also be joining the choir room beginning with episode 5, according to a tweet from Ryan Murphy.

The Hollywood Reporter claims an exclusive on the news that actress, and View co-host, Whoopi Goldberg is returning to Glee Season 4. Actually, Lea Michele let the cat of the the bag last week when she tweeted on Monday (Aug 13) after returning from a shoot in New York City, “Touched down back in LA and drove straight to set! Shooting with the amazing @whoopigoldberg today!
Whoopi first appeared late last season as New York Academy of Dramatic Arts dean Carmen Tibideaux and is billed as a special guest star.
You might recall Carmen accepting Rachel into NYADA after she begged madame for a second chance after botching her initial audition. Kurt (Chris Colfer), who aced his audition, was passed over. (STILL NOT OVER IT PEOPLE!)
THR mentions the return of Alex Newell as the cross dressing/ transgender (to be honest, I’m not quite sure what he is yet) Wade. He’s seen in a new promo auditioning for New Directions. The Glee Project Season 2 winner, Blake Jenner, will also be joining the choir room beginning with episode 5, according to a tweet from Ryan Murphy.
But I would not count out Glee Project runner up, Aylin Bayramoglu, When a fan tweeted co-creator Ryan Murphy a question about Aylin’s future on Glee, he tweeted, “Fan: “I want Aylin on GLEE.” Me: “Me too.””. Hm.
One last thing: E News was on set to watch a big number from the Britney Spears tribute, “Britney 2.0” (it’s the 2nd episode of the season) being shot. The number, with Dean Geyer (Brody, Rachel’s new love interest) and Kate Hudson (Lea’s bitchy dance instructor) is reportedly all kinds of sexy. Lea Michele says, “”We’re on at 9 p.m. now [Thursdays] so they are giving us some more sexiness.” I dunno. Nothing could be as graphic as “Push It”, from Season 1. Ha. But then, back in those days, the show was also on at 9 pm. Read more about it at EOline.
