When does American Idol 2021 start?

When does American Idol 2021 start? Now we have an answer! ABC announces premiere dates for its mid-season unscripted series, including American Idol and The Bachelor. January will welcome Matt James as “The Bachelor” for the  25th season of the ABC hit romance reality series. Matt will start handing out roses on Monday, Jan 4. Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest and Bobby Bones return for the 19th season  (Season 4 on ABC) of  American Idol on Sunday February 14.  

NOTE that American Idol will premiere BEFORE the Academy Awards which has, in the past, served as a launchpad for the series on ABC. Maybe the network moves American Idol to another night on April 25 when the Oscars air.

Details for scripted series premiere dates will be announced at a later time.
