Watch Pentatonix Cover Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” VIDEO

The rise of a capella vocal group Pentatonix has not been without some bumps along the way. Recently, bass singer extraordinaire, Avi Kaplan departed the group to pursue other projects. However, the remaining four singers, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi and Kevin Olusola are soldiering on.

As a thank you to fans, the quartet released a lovely cover of Robyn’s wistful tune, “Dancing on My Own.” Along with the video, the group posted this message.

We just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your ongoing love and support. It means the world to all of us! “Dancing On My Own” is one of our favorite songs (by Robyn who is one of our favorite artists) and we’re so very proud to share it with you. We hope you love it as much as we do and we’re excited to share new music (and more) with you very, very soon. We love you!

Interestingly, the performance isn’t a cappella. Beatboxer Olusola plays the cello, which takes on the bass parts in the song when needed. However, I would imagine that eventually the group will bring on a new bass singer.

The arrangement is simply gorgeous. Watch the video right here.
