It’s an American Idol reunion! Of sorts. Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina didn’t compete during the years country star Keith Urban was judge (seasons 12-15) but it’s still cool to see the two singers take the stage for a duet.
Keith and Lauren joined forces last week at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles, Calif, where the two were both appearing at the event. During Keith’s set, he invited Lauren to join him and sing the Miranda Lambert parts from their 2013 duet, “We Were Us.”
“We don’t get to do this song ever in our set, but I’ve heard Lauren sing it and I’m like, ‘You’ve got to come out and sing this song with me,’” Keith told the crowd. “So she said, ‘Ok, I’ll give it a shot.’”
Later, Keith tweeted, along with a video of the performance, “Hey @Lauren_Alaina – I got an open mic for u anytime.” Lauren responded, “Thanks Keith! So much fun.”
