Madison Watkins, the Fayette, Arkansas native who competed on American Idol season 19 sang the National Anthem before Game 4 of the World series. The game, broadcast on FOX, took place on Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

Despite playing at home, the Houston Astros blanked the Phillies 5-0. Madison sang the anthem ahead of a history making game, as Houston starter Christian Javier threw the second World Series no-hitter.
The singer was originally scheduled to sing the anthem for Game 3 on Monday, Oct 31, but the game was rescheduled to Tuesday due to weather. She did not perform Tuesday. Singer and songwriter Chloe Bailey performed the national anthem instead.
Madison recently performed the National Anthem on Oct. 16 when the Los Angeles Rams hosted the Carolina Panthers.
Madison was chowing down at a Waffle House in Texas with friends when she learned that she booked the World Series. Her family and friends were beyond excited, as demonstrated in this Instagram video.

The American Idol judges chose Madison as a Top 12 wildcard when she competed on the show in 2021. Unfortunately, voters eliminated her the following week. The singer impressed the judges and fans alike with her big vocals on songs such as “It’s a Man’s Man’s World,” “Holy” by Tori Kelly and “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles.
Her November 2021 single “Someday” has surpassed 2.7 million streams on Spotify.
