The fourth finalist heading to The Voice finale was announced on the Today show this morning and it is….Damien!
Damien will join Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison and Craig Wayne Boyd next week on The Voice finale airing December 15 and December 16 at 8/7c PM on NBC.

Welp. That wildcard, as I figured, was a waste of time. As most of us predicted, the one of the two contestants eliminated last night (the other was Taylor John Williams) got right back into the mix after the rest of the eliminated singers (nine in all) performed for their lives. Looking at the iTunes chart below, it was pretty clear none of the others really stood a chance. DaNica Shirey and Luke Wade were the last to perform, and they made a little headway. But nah.
The wildcard ended up being a useless gimmick. It would have been more expedient to have Damien and John Taylor perform in a sing-off Monday night, if the show was looking for a little excitement.
It goes to show how fanbases have solidified when you consider that Damien and Taylor were arguably outsung last night by several contestants. For a hot second, I believed Luke Wade had a chance, after he rallied with a lovely performance of “Have a Little Faith in Me.” It wasn’t meant to be.
But does it matter? Damien is along for the ride. But the showdown will really be between Matt, Craig and Chris. It’s going to be a tight race between 3 front runners. Also, congrats to Team Adam Levine, which moves intact into the finale! And congrats Blake Shelton, for your formidable contribution to the Top 4–Craig Wayne Boyd. Poor Team Gwen Stefani and Team Pharrell Williams shut out of the final showdown.
