iTunes Chart Numbers – 12 pm ET
Here’s a snapshot of the iTunes chart at 12 pm ET when voting closed on the East coast. Matt McAndrew was the ONLY contestant to make the Top 10 and receive the 10x iTunes voting bonus. It sucks to be Craig Wayne Boyd and Damien, as they narrowly missed earning those extra votes. Well, maybe suck is too strong a word. Neither is in danger of going home tonight.
Luke Wade ended in the middle of the pack despite biffing the intro to his live performance. It was a heart wrenching moment when Luke missed his cue. I expect he received a flurry of pity votes, along with support from his fan base. He’s not going anywhere.
Taylor John Williams has got people, because that mediocre performance of a mediocre song didn’t tank on the charts. But when you consider he had the second highest showing on his night last week, the placement doesn’t look so great. Still. He’s safe. Chris Jamison comes in a distant 4th to Damien. I have opinions about that. I’ll just say that me and America do not agree. Anita Antoinette sang a big emotional song in the pimp spot. Yet she barely made the Top 50 after topping the chart, relatively speaking, last week. I hope Gwen is re-assessing her strategy for Anita.
The kids in trouble this week are Ryan Sill and Sugar Joans. Ryan sang first, and he was just NOT GOOD. Overall, he’s displayed a lack of charisma and has only advanced because Gwen has a thing for him. America has other ideas, I believe. Sugar Joans is simply the sort of contestant singing show fans hate. Swaggerific soul girls are out almost immediately. It doesn’t help that her performances have been on the cold side. Honestly, I think anyone in the bottom 3 with Sugar and Ryan will be saved.
