The Voice 5 Top 3 Power List

The Voice 5 is down to the wire. Tonight, the Top 3 will sing for your votes one last time in a two hour final performance show. The winner will be crowned on Tuesday in an finale that features performances from Lady GagaCeline DionNE-YO and OneRepublic.

I have no idea who is going to win the competition. The contest has been unpredictable this year. At this point, anything could happen! This list reflects where the singers stand now, but until after tonight’s performances, all bets are off!

3. Will Champlin – Team Adam – He’s the little engine that could. Will fought his way to the final. Not the most charismatic of the singers. He tended to recede to the background when flashier, more compelling singers like James Wolpert and Matthew Schuler performed. But Will outlasted them all by never giving up, or giving into to the prospect of failure. His determination is admirable. He’s also a good vocalist, even if his stage presence could use some work.

2. Jacquie Lee – Team Christina – This 16 year old belter faltered a few times, mostly when her mentor, Christina Aguilera, chose the wrong song for her. America loves the young singer when she’s belting out an old school tune like an old soul. If she had waited a few years, she would have been unstoppable. Right now, shes’ a singer with a good voice, but without the life experience to interpret sings in a meaningful way. Still, I would not count her out. With the right song, she could take it all.

1. Tessanne Chin – Team Adam – It took America awhile to catch on, but Tessanne seems to finally have captured viewers hearts. She a masterclass vocalist with the ability to express emotion and tell as story. Her only drawback is that she’s a wee bit old fashioned. Nevertheless, she has an excellent chance to win if Adam chooses a show stopping song for her.

It’s hard to imagine any of these singers storming the pop charts once the season is over. All have had their best performances with retro songs, from the standpoint of the show, I don’t think it matters who wins. I’m partial to Tessanne. Her performances have been consistently stellar over the course of the competition. But ultimately, I’d be OK with any of the three winning.
