Chayce Beckham, Jake Worthington and more part of CMT 2024 Listen Up Campaign – As 2023 winds down, CMT looks forward to the best and brightest up-and-coming stars of 2024 with its 2024 CMT LISTEN UP campaign. The list of 14 artists recognizes country music’s most promising newcomers, and CMT pledges to support them across CMT platforms for the following year. The 14 artists who comprise the 2024 CMT LISTEN UP roster are Alana Springsteen, Angie K, Anne Wilson, Carter Faith, Charles Wesley Godwin, Chayce Beckham, Dylan Marlowe, Ella Langley, Fancy Hagood, Jake Worthington, Jordyn Shellhart, RVSHVD, The Castellows and Wyatt Flores. Paula Abdul Recalls Being Roommates With Whoopi Goldberg, Feels Like a ‘Proud Mom’ to Fantasia – The celebrated TV personality and musician cut an elegant figure in her red gown on the purple carpet, where she opened up to ET’s Kevin Frazier about her unexpected connection to the cinematic history of the story made iconic in the 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker. “I saw Whoppi [Goldberg] on Broadway, then Whoopi and I became roommates,” Abdul said of Goldberg, who was the first actress to portray the character of Celie in an adaptation of the book. “I feel like a proud mom to Fantasia; I was there at the very, very, very, very beginning,” Abdul told ET of the film’s leading lady. Katharine McPhee (American Idol season 5 runner up) appeared on Good Morning America to perform a song from her and husband David Foster’s Christmas album. Fantasia (American Idol winner season 3) was there for The Color Purple promotion. Katharine wrote in the caption alongside the photos “I’m always so excited to run into other Idols, but @tasiasword in particular has always been such a mega talented class act and an absolute star so I was EXTRA excited today! I’ve loved to watch you grow and I CANNOT wait for @thecolorpurple to be released so the whole world can see what you’re made of. Go Tasia!!”
