Grease Live! airs tonight on FOX beginning at 7 pm ET, and we will be covering the production right here. The event will be broadcast from several sound stages, with a live audience. Some scenes are are set to be filmed outside. Unfortunately, the weather forecast in Los Angeles calls for rain, but that possibility does not daunt the Grease cast and crew. The producers have prepared for every scenario.

Executive producer, Marc Platt, told the Hollywood Reporter, “We’re going live rain or shine and we’re excited to do so. We won’t do anything that isn’t safe, ever. Safety always comes first, but I’m sure we’ll be fine to do the outside portions.”

“Obviously, we try to be smart about how we prepare because we did want to be outside, rain or shine,” Platt continued, “and we’ve been preparing this for many months. We hope that we’ve planned intelligently.”

Pouring rain could make for some exciting TV. Wondering if something will go wrong during a live broadcast is half the fun.

On a somber note, Vanessa Hudgens who plays bad girl Rizzo, shared some sad news via twitter this morning. She lost her father to cancer yesterday, and will be dedicating her performance tonight to him.

Good luck to the cast, which includes Julianne Hough as Sandy, Broadway’s Aaron Tveit as Danny, pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy, Keke Palmer as Marty, DWTS alum, Carlos Penavega as Kenickie, Mario Lopez and more.
