Tuesday Daily Number’s Thread – 09/22/15

Today’s thread is brought to you by the letter “C”.

C is for Canada, that’s good enough for me. Seriously, Canadians have dominated the US charts for the past month. The Weekend spends his third week at the top of the BB200 and brings the number of weeks Canadians have topped the Hot 100 to 4 – with 3 different songs. First, it was The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” followed by Beiber’s “What Do You Mean” then a return for “Can’t Feel My Face” and The Weekend replacing himself at the top with “The Hills” (a guy hasn’t managed to do that since 2008 (T.I.), but Taylor Swift does it all the time). There are four songs in the top 10 of the Hot 100 from Canadian males from Ontario (The Weekend (x2), Bieber and Drake). Shawn Mendes almost makes it five with “Stitches” at 12.

Meanwhile, Lana del Rey was set to have her first number one album until Drake dropped a Mixed Tape. He will easily have the number one album of the week (putting Canadians on the top of that chart for four weeks) and will mean that the top 3 debut weeks this year have all been Canadians (Drake (x2) and The Weekend).

In other news, Apple has sold out of their iPhones online and they report 15M subscribers to their streaming service. That is 4M more than they hoped for at this point in their launch.

We’ll give the article photo to David Cook since his album is also out this week and BB has an informative interview with him.
