Tuesday Daily Number’s Thread – 06/03/16

Today’s thread is brought to you by the numbers 7, 9 and 83M

Desiigner’s “Panda” spends another week at the top of the Hot 100. It’s a streaming success with about 2/3rds of its Hot 100 points coming from that format. Drake’s “One Dance” moves up to the number 2 spot and is widely predicted to take the top spot next week (it’s a good thing his album is mostly bundled with only two tracks available for individual sale because he’s moving those units and streams. His album should sell 850-900K and 100M+ streams. He sold more in one day than Bey sold in 6 days last week and she was hardly a slouch (630K)).

Lukas Graham’s “7 years” dips a spot to 3rd, but takes over the airplay chart top position (Bieber’s “Love Yourself” held it for 11 weeks – it’s also out of the top 10 freezing its record of Weeks in the Top 10 Since Debut at 23 weeks. He spent a total of 34 contiguous weeks in the top 10 since “What Do You Mean” topped the chart which is his longest run).

Prince lands two songs in the top 10 with “Purple Rain” at 4th and “When Doves Cry” at 8th. “Purple Rain” was the top selling Digital Song of the Week with 282K. This is the first time he’s been in the top 10 of the Hot 100 since 1994 and 1984 was the last time he had two songs in the Hot 100 – “Purple Rain” was 4th that week as well).

The remix of Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” is 5th, “Work” from Rihanna featuring Drake is 6th and Bey lands “Formation” in the top 10 which is a new high for the song that was released during Super Bowl weekend.

X-Factor has two acts in the top 10: Fifth Harmony’s “Work from Home” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign) is 7th (83M AI, _12%) and Zayn’s “Pillowtalk” at 9th.

With Bey and Prince sales diminishing and Drake kindly bundling his album, Voice contestants are flying high again. Alisan has earned the top 10 bonus multiplier and Laith is quite close. Daniel should probably be spending his day packing his bag. He’s really kind of behind the pack. The first three singers are 85-92-193. The rest of the pack sits 6 through 35. Did the first three singers not get broadcasted?
