Today’s thread is brought to you by the numbers….it was a holiday yesterday, there are no numbers. We don’t need no stinkin’ numbers. Actually, we do. So please post them if you find them.
Billboard has a rundown of The Eagles’ chart success. They hit the top of the Hot 100 five times: “Best of My Love” (1975), “One of these Nights” (1975), “New Kid in Town” (1977), “Hotel California” (1977) and “Heartache Tonight” (1979). The highest Glenn Frey managed on his own was still an impressive number 2 with both “The Heat Is On” and “You Belong to the City” (THIO is from the Beverly Hills Soundtrack). The Eagles had 6 number one albums including “Long Road Out of Eden. The Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975” which went onto become the second best selling album in RIAA history selling 29M (only MJ’s “Thriller” sold more at 30M).
