For those of you watch the late night numbers: Late Show with Stephen Colbert took a tumble on it’s second night. It took only one day for the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to reclaim the #1 spot: Via TVByTheNumbers:
On Wednesday, Jimmy Fallon returned to #1 among late-night talk shows in adults 18-49 and total viewers — beating CBS’s “Colbert” and ABC’s “Kimmel” combined in 18-49 (1.24 vs. a combined 1.23) — while Seth Meyers also ranked #1 at 12:35 a.m. ET. Both Fallon and Meyers earned their highest adult 18-49 ratings for originals since February. On its second night opposite Colbert, Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, featuring guests Justin Timberlake and Ellen DeGeneres, grew to a 1.24 A18-49 rating and 4.064 million total viewers 2+.
· While Tuesday’s telecast fell behind Colbert in A18-49 (-37%) and total viewers (-55%), night 2 surged to a +61% lead over Colbert in 18-49s and a +11% advantage in total viewers. Late Night with Seth Meyers, featuring guests Craig Ferguson and Gabourey Sidibe, earned a 0.57 A18-49 and 1.702 total viewers 2+.
· After slipping behind a Colbert-boosted Corden on Tuesday (-15% A18-49 / -30% total viewers 2+), Meyers regained his lead, more than doubling Corden in A18-49 (+119%) and up +63% in total viewers.
The news isn’t all bad for Colbert, however, via Deadline. Colbert is faring much better in the demo than his predecessor, David Letterman:
CBS noted Late Show jumped last night by 70% in total viewers (from 2.15M) and 60% in the demo (0.5), compared to same night last year, as well as a bigger 150% among 18-34 year olds (0.5 vs 0.2).
