The Voice's Christina Grimmie Shot at Orlando Concert

The Orlando Police Department announced Friday that ‘The Voice’ star Christina Grimmie was shot at The Plaza Live, a concert venue on Bumby Street in Orlando.

Grimmie is listed in critical condition, police said. She was scheduled to perform Friday night, according to the Plaza’s website.

OPD said Grimmie’s brother tackled the shooter, who then committed suicide. Officials called Grimmie’s brother a hero.

The Plaza’s website says a band named Before You Exit was scheduled to perform Friday night, along with Grimmie.

The suspect had two guns, OPD said.

According to the Daily News, attendees at the city’s Plaza Live first reported a shooter at around 10:30 p.m. , when boy band Before You Exit and Christina were slated to perform.

Christina was the second runner-up on the 6th season of The Voice in 2014.

UPDATE: USA Today reports Christina was signing autographs and selling merchandise after the show when a man walked up to her and shot her.

UPDATE: A witness tells the Orlando Sentinel that he heard four or five gunshots. He waited a few minutes and went inside where he saw a female on the ground of the venue with blood coming from her head. Someone was giving her chest compressions, he said. He also saw another person injured. A man was on the floor in a pool of blood, his face was completely disfigured.

UPDATE: There are rumors floating around social media that Christina has passed away, but the Orlando police department reports that Christina remains in critical condition.
