It’s official. Christina Grimmie is dead at 22. Via E News.

“It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord,” her publicist tells E! News.

“She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn’t survive the gun shot wounds. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning.”

Christina Grimmie was shot at The Plaza Live, a concert venue in Orlando Florida friday night.  She was signing autographs and selling merchandise after the show when a man walked up to her and shot her.

A witness told the Orlando Sentinel that he heard four or five gunshots. He waited a few minutes and went inside where he saw a female on the ground of the venue with blood coming from her head. Someone was giving her chest compressions, he said. He also saw another person injured. A man was on the floor in a pool of blood, his face was completely disfigured.

Christina’s brother tackled the shooter, who then committed suicide. Officials called Grimmie’s brother a hero. The suspect had two guns, said the Orlando Police Department said.

People close to the family broke the news on social media before the reports were confirmed:

My heart is so heavy right now. What kind of world do we live in?

Christina was a member of Team Adam Levine during the 6th season of The Voice, but there were many who believed she would win because of her standout performances on the show and status as a youtube star.

Her cover of Drake “Hold On I’m Coming Home” was her big moment on The Voice

The Voice mounted a big tour in 2014 that featured the standouts from season 5 and 6. I saw the singers perform when they played in Lowell MA. Here are a few of Christina’s performances.
