The Voice season 15 is just around the corner. Last week, on August 2 and 3, NBC taped the Battle Rounds at Universal Studios. Now, the network has announced via various news outlets the celebrity mentors who are set to assist the coaches during the round. DRUMROLL.
Blake Shelton has tapped Keith Urban. Keith started his competitive reality show career as a coach on The Voice Australia. The country hit maker then kicked it up a notch, joining the American Idol judges panel, serving from Season 12 through Season 15. I was hoping he’d be tapped for the ABC reboot, but Luke Bryan got that country seat instead. So here we are!
Speaking of American Idol, OG winner Kelly Clarkson, joining the coaches panel for a second season, has tapped country superstar Thomas Rhett as mentor. Does that mean Kelly is aiming to coach a country winner this season? We’ll see.
American Idol season 3 alum, Jennifer Hudson has tapped pop singer Halsey to lend a hand with her team. Jennifer is back for season No. 2. She coached season 13 in addition to two seasons of The Voice UK. She’s practically a pro at this point.
And lastly, Adam Levine brings back former The Voice coach CeeLo Green to the show. The R&B artist/songwriter/producer coached The Voice for seasons 1,2,3 and 5. He returned to advise Shakira in season 4 and Blake Shelton in season 8.
The Battles pit team members against each other in epic duets, after which their coach chooses the winner. The loser is eliminated or stolen by a fellow coach.
The next round, The Voice Knockouts are set to tape on Wednesday August 15 and Thursday August 16. In the Knockouts, team members perform a solo of their own choosing, after which their coach chooses the winner. The loser is either eliminated, or can be stolen by another coach.
In ADDITION: On Tuesday August 7, there is a “special” taping, which I suspect is the coaches group number. Want tickets? Sign up at 1iota.com
