The Voice Season 14 Recap: Top 10 Performance Live Blog (VIDEO)

Charlie Puth is up first with a performance of his current single, “Done For Me.”  He wears bangs like a 12 year old. Finally, on the bridge, he pushes his hair out of his eyes. That was bugging. Yes. That’s pretty much all I have to say about this performance.

Next, a video clip features the Top 10 sitting down with their mothers to talk about their very special relationship. This, ahead of Mothers Day on Sunday..

The Top 10 take the stage! And once again Brynn Cartelli’s was the most streamed performance of all the contestants. Apple is really pushing that streaming service. The most surprising advice Adam ever gave Rayshon Lamarr is to relax…just relax. Britton Buchanan feels like Alicia has helped him grow so much. America saved…from Team Blake…Kyla Jade! America also saved…from Team Alicia…Britton Buchanan!

Current winner Chloe Kohanski goes back to her high school in a bit with Toyota. The car company is helping to “save the music”

Oh. Neon Dreams, the Las Vegas The Voice residency featuring  Alisan Porter, Chris Mann, Mary Sarah, Matt McAndrews, Matthew Schuler, Chloe Kohanski and more, is not starting until September? Carson just said that. Previously the site listed tickets for dates as early as June.

The remaining eight contestants take the stage. Christiana Danielle spends her down time eating and sleeping! Plus meditation. Carson asks Pryor Baird about moving on and possibly winning The Voice. The singer says he has been at the grind for so long, he’s ready to play music for the rest of his life. America saved…from Team Kelly…Brynn Cartelli. America also saved…from Team Alicia…Jackie Foster. Once again, my predictions are a dud.

Another video clip–it’s The Voice emoji game. The contestants guess their coaches songs.

The remaining six artists take the stage. Being on The Voice is surreal for Kaleb Lee. He thanks his coach Kelly. Spensha Baker has learned she can do “all things through Christ that strengthens me.” America saved…from Team Blake…Pryor Baird. America also saved…Kaleb Lee from Team Kelly!

And now, the boy band 5 Seconds of Summer is on stage performing their song “Young Blood.” The pit goes wild!

The four remaining contestants: Jackie Verna’s favorite thing about the show is sharing with friends. America saved…Spensha Baker from Team Blake. I mean OF COURSE. Her being bottom 3 would have been shocking.

Christiana Danielle, Rayshun Lamarr and Jackie Verna will sing for the Instant Save!

Christiana Danielle – Team Alicia – Unchain My Heart by Joe Cocker – See how Christiana is performing first? Production is gonna try like hell to save at least ONE Team Adam contestant so that he doesn’t enter the semis empty handed. Unfortunately, Christiana continues her pitchy ways. Better than last week, though. “You are incredibly powerful,” says Alicia adding that the entire country knows how magnificent and magnetic she is. She asks America to “see this vision…make sure she continues in this competition.”

Jackie Verna – I Told You So by Carrie Underwood  – Team Adam – Jackie flops her arm around in a most distracted manner as she sings. And she delivers a vocal scoop that isn’t quite on key. She’s crying by the end. Oh boy. She did NOT keep it together when she needed to step it up. Bye girl. Adam is shocked to see her in the bottom. Adam declares that he is not going to beg on behalf of his singers. Oh. He’s in an awkward situation. One of his team members is going home tonight, regardless.

Rayshun Lamarr – Let’s Get it On – Team Adam – Welp. Rayshun will once again sing his way out of danger. I’ve heard this song performed better. For sure! But this performance is the best out of this week’s Instant Saves. Oh well. The singer who is saved tonight will only get another week out of it, anyway. And despite his promising NOT to beg…Adam stands up and gives Rayshun the hard sell. Poor Jackie! Adam don’t care about her.

Time to save one of the artists! #VoiceSaveJackieV #VoiceSaveRayshun #VoiceSaveChristiana.

And Rayshun is ahead with 45% of the vote. Jacki is at 34% and Christiana at 21%. When the chyron is taken off the screen, the vote is at 44-35-21. Rayshun has got this. Ha ha. Adam insists he’s not throwing anybody under the bus. He must have been looking at twitter over the break.

And America Instantly Saved…Rayshun Lamarr

ETA: Rayshun performed the best of the the bottom 3 tonight. However, although her performances have been uneven, Christiana is the most interesting artist of the three. I thought she delivered one of her best performances of the night last night. I would have prefered to say bye bye to Jackie Foster, who isn’t quite pulling off the “rocker chick” deal. But gotta give her props. Her Sara Bareilles cover this week was the right song at the right time. Jackie Verna had her moments this season, but her time had come to leave the competition.
