Chloe Kohanski – 23 – Nashville Tennessee – The Chain by Fleetwood Mac – She calls her style “Psych Rock.” She loves her some Miley Cyrus. After high shcool, Chloe was all set to got to college, but she bailed and joined a band instead. Her family wasn’t thrilled, but they are supportive. Lately, she’s been working at a coffee shop to make ends meet.  Her tone is really odd–she got a deep voice. That lower register is strong. But she can belt too. She’s got that raspy sound suited for classic rock. It takes a bit. But finally, Miley, Blake and Jennifer hit their buttons. She seems perfectly suited for Miley’s team. Blake notes her lower register, but LOVES when she “shreds.” Jennifer calls her a “superstar” with sass. Miley thinks she can pick the right songs for Chloe. Jennifer goes on and on…about something, but she’s not very convincing. Blake says “I think you can be in the finale.” And unsurprisingly, Chloe picks Team Miley Cyrus – Download from iTunes

Olivia Kay – 13 – Edmond OK – Ghost – That’s not a typo. Kay is only 13. She just graduated 8th grade and has a twin brother. She’s been singing since 7 years of age. She recorded a cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” that went viral on Youtube. Oh. She sang the National Anthem at Blake’s Oklahoma HOF induction ceremony. She flashes a photo of them together. Ohhh. This lil gal is NOT ready for prime time. There are tons of pitch problems. And she does the rap verse. Erm. Nobody is turning, unsurprisingly. Parents. Give the kid a couple of years maybe? OK? Miley gives her a high five for “coolness.” Adam remarks that his voice was still changing at that age. Keep working at it, he says. Blake thinks that even in a year, she’ll be so much better. When she mentions they met, he kinda sorta remembers the moment. He signs the photo they took together – NO Turns

Dennis Drummond – 27 – Warren OH – She Talks to Angels by The Black Crowes – He’s 6′ 8′ and knows all the jokes. He comes from a long line of steelworkers. He’s been playing guitar for Adam Wakefield (Season 10 runner-up, Team Blake), who didn’t know Dennis could sing (Adam makes a brief cameo). Dennis studied at  Berklee and then headed off to Nashville with his girlfriend. His dad is happy Dennis isn’t headed off to the working class. Well. His vocals are just OK. I suspect he’s a better guitar player than singer. Adam hits his button first. Blake finally pushes after Dennis goes soft on one of the later verses. He doesn’t sing with much vulnerability. So, Adam and Blake are going to go at it. Both Miley and Jennifer rightly note his problematic vocal. He needs to work on dynamics. Adam notes that Blake didn’t win with Adam W. MEAN. He also notes the number of instruments he plays, and they have a bit of nerd talk.  Notwithstanding, Dennis Picks Team Blake Shelton. Adam W. probably had a hand in that. – Download from iTunes

Ignatious Carmouche – 28 – Latch by Disclosure – He won the season 12 Snapchat competition as a member of Team Adam. He’s an ordained minister and co-founded a music ministry. He’s got some nice phrasing going–but he seems a little nervous. He sails up into a pretty falsetto. What…no Adam yet? Jennifer hits her button.  Blake is next. Aw. Mom is crying. Adam recognizes him, and goes up to shake his hand and advocate for Jhud. “I felt like he was singing to my heart,” says JHud. “I was,” he replies. Jennifer melts. She compares his voice to a saxophone. And he plays a saxophone! I think these two were made for each other.  Also, Adam won’t let it go. TEAM JHUD. Rebecca Brunner – 22 – Mason MI – Believer by Imagine Dragon – Currently she works in Chicago. She nannies by day, gigs by night. She also does session singing. Maybe not the best song choice? She’s having breath problems. She opens up on the chorus. Will that help her? Second chorus…nobody has hit their button. She’s got a good voice. Raspy and full. But bad bad song choice. Finally at literally the last second, Blake hits his button. Lucky girl. Blake calls the performance “freaking hard.” He waited for the last moment, hoping nobody else would push. Brandon Brown – 19 – Bronx NY – Georgia on My Mind by Ray Charles – He’s a school teacher…and a violin player. His mom has functioned as a major support system. Brandon says he’d LOVE to work with Jennifer Hudson. And you know what that means…(he won’t end up on her team). Adam hits his button first and fast. He’s got a lovely, velvety voice. But he’s not hitting hard enough. He’s having a few pitch problems too. Blake hits his button on the last verse and then Jennifer goes for it. That was a shaky performance, but his tone is nice. Adam loved his subtly. Blake compares him to Willie Nelson. JHud throws out Donny Hathaway and Brandon says he’s a favorite. The panel goofs on Blake for that self pointing move he does. EVERY SEASON. JHud rubs in her VERY RECENT win in the UK. But then, Adam brags that he chose him first. Oh. CLIFFHANGER. We’ve gotta wait until after the commercial to learn the results. Brandon Picks Team Adam Levine (Mom said to choose something new. Brandon is a dutiful son). Download from iTunes

Nathan Graham – 27 – Chicago IL – “Nobody to Blame” –  Nathan plays guitar,  teaches at the school of rock. He’s also a wine connoisseur and plays in a blues band. He’s got a super cool look. The guy has style. And he’s a decent guitar player. But his voice is just a’ight.  His gravely vocal hits a rough spot on a high note. The only time he went big and he biffed it. Blake kept waiting for something. Miley felt he made the song his own, but couldn’t grasp his voice.  Unsurprisingly, No Turns.

Whitney Fenimore – 28 – Tulsa OK – Hold on, We’re Going Home by Drake – In high school, she sang Christian music but decided to cross over. After moving to Los Angeles, she had a hard time with the stress and suffered from panic attacks and depression. She had to head home. She’s doing an “Americana” version of the Drake song. Hm. I didn’t like the recorded version at all. The live version is more folk, less twangy. That recording is so hokey. This is actually pretty good. Her voice is elastic, with a beautiful tone and range. She doesn’t hit a false note. Adam and Miley both hit their buttons. Oh boy. Miley has an all-female team and wants to keep it going! “I think I know what to do.” Adam brings up Christina Grimmie, who covered the song. It’s like a “Hi” from her, he says. Hm. That’s an odd thing to bring up. Christina’s cover was nothing like that, for one thing. Whitney Picks Adam Levine. He’s one of her favorite artists, apparently.    –  Download from iTunes

Ilianna Viramontes – 18 – Brentwood CA – New Soul by Yael Naim – Her father is an FBI agent. The family moved around a lot–she was lonely and that’s how she got into music. She’s danced, done cheerleading and sang in a choir at Carnegie Hall. She’s missing her high school graduation to audition for The Voice. She’s got a very commercial sounding voice. Also, there’s a confidence there I wouldn’t expect from a teenager. She’s a little generic, though, which is probably why it’s taking a bit to get turns. Finally, Blake and Miley turn.  Adam teases that Ilianna mistook Blake for Keith Urban. He’s also excited to see what Miley will do with her on the show. Har har. MONTAGES!!!

Katrina Rose – Kozmic Blues by Janis Joplin – Team Miley Cyrus – Download from iTunes

Natalie Stovall – If It Hadn’t Been for Love by The SteelDrivers – 35 – Columbia Tennessee –  Oh…so Natalie is kind of a big deal in Nashville. She performs with Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots and was signed to a record deal at one point, breaking the country Top 40 with a single in 2013…before she was dropped. And they montaged her! RUDE. Her age probably held her back, unfortunately.  Team Blake Shelton –  Download from iTunes

Ryan Scripps – Body Like a Back Road by Sam Hunt – Team Blake SheltonDownload from iTunes

Meagan McNeal – 31 – Chicago IL – Can’t Feel My Face by The Weeknd – She’s a single mom to son Maddox. She performs around Chicago, at weddings and a guest front for various bands. This is her biggest gig ever. Oh she’s good–really bringing a unique flavor to this popular tune. It’s jazzy and smooth as well as soulful. It’s taking a while for button hits. I guess with teams filling up it’s getting tough? Jennifer is the first and only one to turn. That’s weird. Girlfriend is good. It’s just as well. Jennifer is a good fit anyway. Adam notes that a lot of Chicagoans are auditioning (they are). Also there is this whole Blake as a master of trivia thing going on tonight. Team Jennifer Hudson Picks Meagan – Download from iTunes

Jon Mero – 31 – Des Moines IA – Versace on the Floor by Bruno Mars – We previewed this four chair turn earlier today. He currently lives in Atlanta. He was inspired by Whitney Huston to become a singer. He’s worked with Cee Lo Green and fronts a band that plays corporate gigs. That probably makes him some half decent dough. Blake, Jennifer and Adam hit their buttons right away., He’s got a beautiful voice. But there’s something really cheesy about his presentation. Miley hits her button at the last minute. Jennifer felt like she was at his concert. Adam  compares him to Prince. Hm. Jennifer thinks he owned his moment. Blake is surprised he’s not a trained dancer. Miley gives a lame ass excuse for pushing her button last (“I have to make sure…but once I am…I’m passionate!)  Mom comes on stage. She’s literally slapping him “YOU DO THAT YOU DO THAT.” His mother’s love makes Jon teary. Interestingly, Jon Picks Adam Levine  Oh. He feels Adam represents his musical lane.  –  Download from iTunes
