This is it kids. We’ve come to the end of another season of The Voice. All that’s left is crowning the winner tomorrow night (May 24).
Lauren Duski is holding the No 1 and No 2 spots on the iTunes charts. I’ll dine on my hat if she does not win tomorrow. Her original song was a crowd pleaser. She covered a classic ballad and sang a fun duet with her coach Blake Shelton. Plus she made it all seem effortless.
I wish Alicia Keys had given Chris Blue a solo ballad to sing. Right now, his gospel number, Take me to the King, is in the Top 50 on iTunes. He could have had the performance of the night. Not that what he performed wasn’t show stopping. He can sing, he can dance and he can do it with amazing amounts of charisma. I’d love for him to take it all. But I think it’s likely Chris will come in second. That duet of “Diamonds and Pearls” with Alicia Keys–ambitious, but maybe too much for a singing competition.
Aliyah Moulden was energetic and fun, but considering her song choices, it’s pretty obvious where her coach, Blake Shelton’s, attention was this week. Her performances were solid, but nothing finale worthy. Although I will say we got a good glimpse of the kind of artist Aliyah could be beyond her stint on The Voice.
