The Voice Ratings Beat American Idol In Head to Head Competition

THE VOICE --

As expected, The Voice beat American Idol in a head to head ratings match up. American Idol lost half a point from it’s Sunday premiere, while The Voice only lost 1/10th of a point from last Monday’s episode.

UPDATE: The Voice rating was actually 2.3. TVByThe Numbers has corrected their typo.

UPDATE 2: And the Voice ratings are now officially 2.4 after the final update.

“The Voice” was off slightly week to week, but it scored a solid ratings win over “American Idol” as the two singing shows went head to head.

“The Voice” earned a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49, down 0.1 from a week ago. It beat “Idol,” however, by a 50 percent margin — the ABC show came in at 1.8, down half a point from Sunday’s premiere.

ETA: On the comparable night last fall,  The Voice earned a 2.5 and DWTS garnered a 1.3 rating. DWTS highest rating last fall was a 1.6 premiere rating. A year ago last spring, DWTS premiered with a 2.1 on March 20 vs The Voice 12 first Battle episode, which garnered a 2.4. DWTS fell to a 1.7 the following week.
