The Voice Open Call Auditions Set for Summer 2018 : See the Dates

The NBC competition singing show The Voice has announced new open calls set for this summer.  During these open calls, producers will be looking to cast Season 16, which will air in Spring 2019.

The dates and cities are: Chicago, Illinois on June 9, Atlanta, Georgia on June 16 at AmericasMart, Dallas, Texas on June 23 and Salt Lake City, Utah on July 14. Hopefuls need to be 13 years old or older. All music styles are accepted. Check out this link to register and for more details.

If you’re auditioning–clipped from the How to Audition page:

Please prepare two (2) songs for your open call audition. You will be required to perform one song, but have the second song ready if asked.

A CAPPELLA ONLY at the open call auditions.

NO background tracks, NO accompaniment, NO instruments.

The only thing we want to hear is YOUR VOICE. To be clear, you CANNOT play your guitar at the Open Call Audition.

Family, friends, managers, vocal instructors, etc. will NOT be allowed at the audition.

If you are under 18 or are otherwise a minor in your home state, one (1) parent or guardian will be allowed with you at the audition.

Leave your guitars at home, kiddos. Sounds like old school American Idol auditions! But not this:

Come dressed in a style that represents you as an artist. Do NOT come in “chicken costumes.” We are looking for serious artists ONLY.

Ha ha.

If a lucky contestant gets a producer call back, they must prepare 3 songs. NO ORIGINAL SONGS. However, this time NO A CAPPELLA.

You may sing to a backing track, play an instrument, have one (1) person accompany you. A cappella is NOT allowed at the CALLBACKS; you must have accompaniment.

If you play an instrument while you sing, you must perform at least one (1) song without.

And, there is a reminder that the coaches WILL NOT be at the callbacks.

Speaking of coaches, The Voice has yet to announce the lineup for Season 15, which is set to air fall 2016. Will veterans Blake Shelton and Adam Levine return to the panel? Probably. Will the remaining two seats be filled by an artist who has coached before or a total newbie? Summertime is also when Blind Auditions are filmed for the fall season, so stay tuned, Voice fans…
