The Voice – Michelle Chamuel Announces Debut Album, Reveals Cover Art (PHOTO)

The Voice 4 runner-up, Michelle Chamuel took to Facebook to announce the release of her debut album, The Reverb Junkie. Here’s what she had to say about the self-produced and self-released record:

Hello there! On September 10, 2013 – I will be releasing my first entirely self-produced album as The Reverb Junkie, (my solo electronic project). This album is quite different from anything I’ve done before. Every sound came through my mind. All voices you hear come from me. All the notes were played by me (though some birds outside and floor creaking make a cameo – if you listen closely).

For this album, I wrote and recorded full songs, then went back and selected my favorite parts – significant words/notes/syllables/etc – and left only those parts. I got to use my voice as an instrument and play with the different sounds it can make. I wrote melodies on bass, piano, strings, synthesizer, guitar, organ, and glockenspiel. I acted like my own choir. I programmed drums to get you to nod your head where the music makes me feel like nodding my head. I kept writing and re-arranging, adding and taking away, until it sounded just how I wanted it to.

This album is called “All I Want.” It’s what I’ve wanted to make for a long time now. I’m so excited to be able to share it with you.

It sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? And unlike anything we heard from the quirky chanteuse on the show. Hopefully, her friend and mentor, Usher, will step in to help get the word out.
