Cam Anthony, the versatile R&B singer won The Voice back in fall 2021 on Team Blake Shelton has released his debut single. And it’s on Republic Records.
“Keep it Between Us” is out now, available on all streaming and downloading services. Black Monday among other producers helmed the funky song. “We wanted to make sure it was something personal and unique after the win on ‘The Voice,'” the singer told the Detroit News.
The tune is the first single from an EP that Cam reveals will be out later. Although his song choices on The Voice ran the genre gamet from pop like Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down,” to the classic “Feeling Good,” and alt-rock “Take Me to Church” by Hozier, he wanted his first single to be R&B.
“I don’t think it’s too complicated to necessarily figure out a way to go,” he told Detroit News. “Music is so diverse. You’re able to jump across different genres and reach out in many different ways. I wanted to start with R&B because R&B is where my roots are but I wanted to definitely explore and [the] EP will definitely show that.”

Cam will sing the Black National Anthem in Detroit
The Philadelphia native, who is currently living in Los Angeles is scheduled to perform tonight (July 15) in Detroit on the Ford Main Stage at the African World Festival.
“I’m so excited,” Cam told the Detroit news. He will also sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” aka the “Black National Anthem,” during the festival’s opening ceremony which begins at 4 p.m. Friday. “This will really be my first show since the release.”
No release date is set for the EP, which will, presumably also be released on Republic. Season 19 winner, Carter Rubin, also release his debut single, “Horoscope” via Republic. A contract with the label is part of the winner’s prize package, but typically, the artists prefer to release music independently or seek a new distributor/label. Republic doesn’t offer much support outside of distributing the music, unfortunately.
