The Voice season 2 alum, Raelynn is expecting a baby girl.
It’s the first child for the country singer and her husband, Josh Davis, whom she wed in 2016. She told People magazine the this past year the pair have “thought more about the important things in life — and for us, that is growing our family.”
The baby is due in September. “I for sure thought I was having a boy — I don’t know why; I just did,” said Raelynn. “Josh’s gut feeling the whole time was a girl, so he was right for sure. I didn’t care either way, though.”
“I should have known with my debut song ‘God Made Girls’ that God would give me a girl first!” she joked.
The Team Blake Shelton member made the announcement on her 27th birthday Tuesday (May 4). “Every year is special in its own way, but what’s going to make my 27th year on this earth so special is that I get to be a momma to a beautiful baby girl,” she said. “So that’s why I wanted to wait because it’s the best birthday present!”
Raelynn will need to take special precautions with the pregnancy, due to her Type 1 diabetes, which she was diagnosed with as a child. “The main worry I had was managing my diabetes while carrying a baby,” she explains. “I’ve been so fortunate to have an amazing care team that has me on the best regimen. My diabetes and A1C has never been better than it is now.”
The singer and her husband, who is in the army, have already chosen a name for the little girl, but they plan to keep it secret. “We agreed pretty quickly on it because it was just too perfect not to,” she said.
On Twitter, RaeLynn wrote, “Well this Georgia Peach and Texas Rose did the thing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I’m 27 years old and 21 weeks into carrying our BABY GIRL. I already have so much love for this little flower child. I can’t wait to be her Momma and to watch Josh be her Dad.” In another post, she said, “Excited for our world to be turned upside down in September cause GOD MADE GIRLS BABY.”

Even amid the pregnancy, RaeLynn plans on releasing new music this summer, a follow up to her 2018 EP Baytown.
