Tonight, the Top 5 The Voice finalists take the stage for your votes. How would YOU rank the remaining contestants? Each of the coaches–Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera–have a horse in this race. Could we possibly have a finale that includes a singer from every team?
It may finally time for Christina’s only team member, India Carney, to leave the competition, which would leave Pharrell with two singers and Adam and Blake one each. What a difference a cycle makes! Remember when Pharrell went into the finale completely empty handed last fall? And he’ll likely be the winning coach this time! Sorry Blake. But not too sorry, because he could very possibly be coaching the runner-up.
1. Sawyer Fredericks – Team Pharrell – Young, sweet Sawyer is literally the Superman of The Voice season 8. If he sings a song, it immediately shoots to the iTunes Top 10. Consider that he charted high last week with a song, Shine On, that most viewers never heard before. It appears that the singer has fans who will vote vote vote and buy buy buy. He will probably even win with a misstep. Except he rarely does that. Sawyer is that rare young artist who knows exactly who he is. I mean, if he could survive that horrible staging for Take Me to the River last week, he can cut through anything.
2. Meghan Linsey – Team Blake – Blake and Meghan have entered the zone. After last week’s “Amazing Grace” triumph, we will probably get more soul and gospel tinged country coming our way. I feel pretty confident at this point that she’ll take the number 2 spot when all is said and done.
3. Joshua Davis – Team Adam – Don’t discount the gentle balladeer, Joshua. If Sawyer wasn’t in the competition taking the folk/guitar player dude vote, Josh could take it all. When this folkie throwback is singing the right song, he touches hearts. Votes and iTunes dollars follow!
4. Koryn Hawthorne – Team Pharrell – Young Koryn has lacked consistency, but when she’s on, she’s on. Even when her pitch is imperfect, her heart and soul shines through. Which is why, in a twitter battle with India Carney, I think she’d win. Her raw emotion will win the day and send her to the finals. Two for Team Pharrell!
5. India Carney – Team Christina – How many lives does India have? She barely squeaked through two weeks in a row. I don’t think there is a contestant left that she could beat in a head to head battle.
