The Voice 4- Mac’s Top 8 Power List

The numbers are dwindling, and tonight these 8 contestants will fight for their lives once more. Some of the rankings have definitely shaken up. Last week, my #10 and #7 ranked contestants went home. Who will go home this week?

#8- Holly Tucker (Last Week #9)
I hate ranking her low, but sooner or later a girl is going to go home. And sooner or later, a girl is going to go home from Team Blake. And I don’t think that girl is Danielle Bradbury. The Swon Brothers are actually developing a nice little following for themselves. Not only are they the only duo in the competition, but now they are the last men standing. I think two girls are going home this week, and one of them is Holly, who just isn’t drumming up the support that some of the others are.

#7- Sarah Simmons (Last Week #5)
For almost the exact same reasons as Holly, I think Sarah is in danger this week. Sooner or later, Team Adam will go from 3-2, and I think Sarah is that girl (unless Amber screws up another week in a row… more on that later). She’s had some momentum for a girl that was saved by Adam in the first place, but in a sea of women (even more than the 5 that Idol had), some of them have to start going home soon.

#6- Sasha Allen (Last week #6)
Depending on which sites you go to, Sasha’s cover last week was either mindblowingly awesome, or absurdly disappointing. That being said, Sasha is also the last person standing on her team, which should allow Shakira’s fans the ease of voting for only one contestant instead of two. THAT being said, does Shakira have any fans? Does Sasha?

#5- The Swon Brothers (Last Week #4)
Last week, they were pretty good, but no one was really putting them in their top like they were two weeks ago. The Swon Brothers are probably safe this week, but they’ll need to return to their buzzworthy performances if they intend on making the finale. People need to be able to say that the Swon Brothers were the best of the night, and it feel like a truthful statement.

#4- Amber Carrington (Last Week #4)
She basically got through last week on the goodwill of fan support. That being said, this is a very close competition with a lot of terrific singers, and that will not happen again. If Amber can’t return to form this week, she’ll be going home (regardless of this power ranking). She cannot let Breakaway happen again.

#3- Michelle Chamuel (Last Week #8)
I’m glad Michelle made the song choice she did last week, because it really allowed her to show America her artistry. However, if she reverts back to choosing songs that are far too big for her voice, she’ll drop back down. But I’m hoping that Michelle knows who she is as an artist, and knows she’s not Jennifer Hudson, and will keep Usher from picking horrible songs for her going forward.

#2- Judith Hill (Last Week #3)
No matter how little Judith sells on Itunes, she seems to survive, which means people are actually calling in for her. I don’t think she can win, I just think some of the other contestants are stalling right now, so Judith (who turns in virtually the same performance every week) is more of a measuring tool of “who can beat Danielle Bradbury right now” versus who can’t.

#1- Danielle Bradbury (Last Week #2)
She was terrific last week, and charted in the Top 10, and also at #1 on the country chart. She’s beginning to be the force that Cassadee was last year, and she ended up taking the whole thing. Can anyone stop Danielle, now that Amber has clearly given up?
