The Voice 24 Battles: Team Niall Horan standouts Nini Iris and Sophia Hoffman fight for a spot in the Knockouts with Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass”

The Voice 24 Battles continues on Tuesday (Oct 24) with more unforgettable matchups. In a new preview from NBC, Team Niall Horan standouts Nini Iris and Sophia Hoffman perform a unique arrangement of Blondie’s classic hit “Heart of Glass.”

The arrangement delivers a twist on the song’s disco roots. It’s still danceable, but it’s slowed up, allowing the big voiced singers to show off their vocals. Previously in the Blind Auditions, Nini earned a four chair turn for her rendition of “I See Red” while Sophia returned with a winning “Tell Me You Love Me” by Demi Lovato after turning no chairs in season 23.

Gwen Stefani loved that the battle felt like “two girls being like, ‘We’re on the show! We’re going to do it!'” She calls Nini “so incredible” while complimenting her precise runs. She can’t believe that Sophia is only 18. “You have such a rich sound and tone to your voice,” Gwen notes.

“This is so fun to watch,” says John Legend. “Both of you were just in your element. You looked like stars up there.” He likes that they had fun while still delivering incredible vocals. “You all did not forget that you were here to sing. Y’all sang!”

Reba McEntire wonders if they were having as much fun as the coaches were having listening to them. “Yes ma’am!” Sophia answered. “Your singing abilities are excellent. Your confidence on stage was so cool and so smart,” Reba adds. While she assures Sophia that she has a great future on stage, she picks Nini as the winner of the battle.

Niall hopes that “someone comes up with a steal here”

Niall is “so proud” of both singers. “You sung the roof off this place,” he declares. He admires Sophia’s perseverance, coming back to The Voice after being a no turn the previous season. To Nini he says, “Every time you step up here, It’s just mesmerizing.” Niall is “really hoping that someone comes up with a steal here.”

Who will Niall pick as the winner of the Battle? And will another coach steal the loser? Tune into NBC tonight (October 24) when Battles Part 3 airs at 9 pm ET/PT. A recap of Monday’s Battles 2 will kick off the night at 8 pm ET/PT.
