The Voice 21: The Coaches Welcome Back Live Audiences (Video)

Bill the The Voice warm up guy is EXCITED! Because HE’S GOT A JOB! For 2 1/2 seasons, The Voice either broadcast remotely from artists’ homes, or Zoomed in a remote audience. Even last spring, when American Idol brought back live audiences for the live shows, The Voice didn’t follow suit. The finale was basically a bunch of stitched together videos.

But now, The Voice live audiences are BACK for season 21! In a new clip, the cast chats about how excited they are to welcome fans back into the studio.Of course, the audience is smaller and are vaxxed and masked, but still extremely enthusiastic. Coach Kelly Clarkson notes that live audiences really help artists who are “laying it all out there” on stage. John Legend exclaims, “We miss our fans!” he adds, “We feel the roar, we feel the energy, we feel the connection.”
Unsurprisingly, new coach Ariana Grande, had a bunch of fans in the audience, who expressed excitement at seeing her in person. And Ariana loved them back, making a point of interacting with the audience whenever she could.

Blake Shelton is happy to have fans back in the studio too, but says that “the only downside” is how the crowd cheers for Ariana. “I scream when she walks by too,” he jokes.

The Voice season 21 is just around the corner. Check out our massive contestant guide HERE. The new season premieres on NBC Monday September 20 and Tuesday September 21.
