Two Team John Legend standouts, Cedrice and Thunderstorm Artis fight it out on “Stay” by Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko for a spot on his team. It all goes down on the last The Voice season 18 Battle Round episode, airing Monday at 8 pm ET/PT on NBC.
The two singers are arguably the best vocalists of all 40 The Voice 18 contestants. It’s hard to believe that John would pit them against each other. However, it’s a good bet that the two coaches who have not used their steals–Blake Shelton or Nick Jonas–will snatch the loser up. Thunderstorm was a 4 chair turn, while Cedrice became the very last artist to secure a spot on a team.
Indeed, Nick says afterward that it was one of the battles he was “most looking forward to seeing.’ He would chose Thunderstorm. Kelly Clarkson thinks both singers made each other sound even better. She’s impressed by how “comfortable and confident” Cedrice is in her skin. Blake adds that he believes there is “something magical” about her. He thinks Thunderstorm “really lives up to that name.” Blake would also pick Thunderstorm. I can imagine a world where John picks Cedrice and Blake and Nick will both try to steal Thunderstorm…
