The Voice Season 17 Knockout Round with mega mentor Taylor Swift ends next week (Nov 4 & 5) after four-ish episodes. The season is moving along at a brisk pace, without nary a clip show in sight! In fact, the LIVE Playoffs begin the following week (Nov 11 & 12).

This season there will only be a Top 20 instead of the usual Top 24. The coaches, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Blake Shelton only had ONE save during the knockouts and NO wildcards. However, 13 contestants will advance to the finals with the last spot determined by viewer votes. FYI: Fall 2016 was the last time a Top 20 competed in the Playoffs. It was a one night only deal due to the presidential election on Tuesday.

Monday Nov 11 “LIVE PLAYOFFS TOP 20” 8:00 PM-10:01 PM EST – The Top 20 artists perform in front of coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani for their chance at a spot in the Top 13. All 20 artists will perform live.
Tuesday Nov 12 “LIVE TOP 20 ELIMINATIONS” (08:00PM – 09:00PM) – In the live results show, eight artists will be revealed as safe by America’s votes and the coaches, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, will each select an artist to save. The remaining artists from each team with the highest overnight vote will have a chance to compete for the Wild Card and one artist will continue on.
Presumably, the Top 13 will perform LIVE on Monday, Nov 18. There is a weird thing. Either the Tuesday shows are moving to 9 pm or will be eliminated, at some point. Last spring, NBC eliminated four Tuesday shows, with the remaining five Tuesday episodes airing at 9 pm. Here’s how I know something is up. On Tuesday, December 3, NBC has scheduled a Christmas special at 8:30 pm.
Perhaps after This Is Us goes on winter hiatus, The Voice Tuesday will move to 9 pm. That’s actually what happened last spring. IF the fall cycle ends when it usually does, the finale will air on Monday Dec 16 and Tuesday Dec 17.
