Last night’s The Voice 15 Knockouts premiere was full of steals and saves. Out of 13 contestants, only two were eliminated. Eleven of 24 Playoff contestants have already been revealed. And it’s all downhill from here! Just kidding.

Mariah Carey made her big debut as The Voice Knockouts Key Advisor. There was plenty of fawning directed at Mimi from the coaches and contestants. It was probably written in her contract. I kid again! Sort of. As far as her mentoring was concerned, she had some good tips for the singers, as well she should, considering how long she’s been in show business. Is it just me, but did Mimi seem a little bit irked that RADHA easily hit all those high notes in “I’ll Be There?” Heh.
Cody Ray Raymond dropped out of the competition after he won his Battle, leaving three contestants in a trio. That matchup, featuring powerhouse singers Kymberli Joye, Nastasia Greycloud and Zaxai would have been the centerpiece of the night, if not for Patrique Fortson and SandyRedd. I’m happy they all were saved. I also wonder if it’s smart to top load the first episode of the round with all the exciting stuff?
And, in case you’re wondering what happened to Cody. He tweeted. He and his family are fine, but he did not explain exactly why he left the show.
