His performance of “The Way You Look Tonight” prompts veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to turn their chairs. And then the battle begins. Blake brags that he’s besties with standards singer Michael Buble. But Adam manages to one-up his frenemy. He takes the stage and credibly croons a little bit of the song himself.

Good Genes: It wouldn’t be a season of The Voice without some celebrity offspring. And while Candace Cameron Bure’s daughter, who auditioned this season, doesn’t make the opener, we do see two children of musicians (albeit of the non-superstar variety) and one daughter of a pro basketball player.
Questionable Passes: While sometimes when no coaches turn you fully understand why, during tonight’s episode there’s one great singer who doesn’t manage to get anyone to push a button. The coaches all explain what was missing, but we’re still not hearing it…
Brushes With Stardom: One of the auditioners was a swimmer as a kid, and swam against Michael Phelps in the Junior Olympics!
