The Sing-Off 3 – The Finale!

Pentatonix Wins the Sing-Off!

2nd Place: Dartmouth Airs
3rd Place: Urban Method

AHHHH! Pentatonix wins and all is right with the world! Dartmouth Aires coming in second place was pretty perfect too! It’s such a shame this wonderful singing competition didn’t find a wider audience. I could not be cynical about 1 single second of this show, I loved it so much.

Tonight’s finale featured the Top 3 groups performing one last song, and a tune with a cast member. 4th place finishers Astro Blue sang with the legendary Smokey Robinson. Pretty good deal, eh?

Hey Simon Cowell! When you cast groups for X Factor next year, you might want to consider an outfit like Pentatonix! If any vocal group from a singing competition is going to have a hit record it’s going to come from the Sing-Off. OOPS excuse me! It’s already happened! The Beelzebubs who came in 2nd in The Sing-Off’s inaugural season, rocketed to the top of the charts as Darren Criss’s Warblers on Glee. Simon. You need a consult. Stat.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the debut album from Pentatonix. The combination of stellar vocals, an unparalleled rhythm section and KILLER KILLER ARRANGEMENTS made the group the clear front runners.

Who will win the Sing-Off? Will it be hip-hop influenced, Urban Method? The college boys Dartmouth Airs? Or the ever-inventive Pentatonix?  The winners get 2ooK and a Sony recording contract.

IT BETTER BE PENTATONIX!!! I’ll be shocked if they don’t win. In the meantime, the next two hours will be filled with performances from the cast and contestants.  I’ll be live blogging the LIVE show right here.
