Ratings for Sunday February 3, 2020:

The post-Super Bowl premiere of The Masked Singer season 3 earned a whopping 23.7 million total viewers. According to Variety, the numbers more than doubled the competition reality show’s previous viewership high. For a comparison, the season 1 finale of the series drew 11.5 million viewers, and the season 2 finale was watched by 8.4 million viewers.

Last year, CBS gave the coveted post-Super Bowl slot to new competition reality show, The World’s Best, earning 22.22 million viewers for the network. That big premiere didn’t hold viewer’s interest, however. The show’s finale only garnered a 0.6/3 in the 18-49 demo and 3.60 million viewers. Subsequently, the network cancelled the show.

The Masked Singer is the most popular non-sports show on TV right now, and did not need the help. In any case, the big numbers will give the show’s seasonal ratings average a huge boost, and may serve as a reminder for for even more folks to tune into the show’s regular Wednesday time slot.

Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers garnered 102 million total viewers across FOX and all its platforms. The game drew just under 100 million viewers on FOX, up barely 2% on last year.

Elsewhere on Sunday night, every other network aired reruns. NBC, ABC and CBS all averaged a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49.

A 60 Minute repeat was the most watched non-Fox program of the night with 2.63 million total viewers for CBS, followed by NCIS: New Orleans with 2.58 million.
